5 Must-read books
Updated: Jun 12, 2020
As Dr. Seuss said “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
And who doesn't wanna go places? But what if those places are different areas of your life? What if, just by reading a book, you could dive deep into your life, into your mind, your subconsciousness? What if they will take you into a journey that is all about self-discovery?
There are some amazing, powerful books out there that we should all read at least once.
Here it is a list of 5 books that had a huge impact on my life so far, helping me during my personal process of self-discovery and self-love. You´ll find the Amazon link, to make it easier for you to check it out yourself.
My dream is that, at some point in the future, next to classic literature, children will have to read these powerful books too.
1- The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz: This book is about fear-based beliefs and assumptions that undermine love and lead to suffering and drama in our relationships with ourselves and with others. It shows us how to finally accept and forgive ourselves and others.
It is such an easy book to read and still is full of wisdom.
"Happiness can only come from inside of you and is the result of your love. When you are aware that no one else can make you happy, and that happiness is the result of your love, this becomes the greatest mastery of the Toltec: the Mastery of Love." — don Miguel Ruiz
2- As a Man Thinketh by James Allen: It is a literary essay, a bit more difficult to read than the previous one but it is only 42 pages of pure positivity. As the author claims, the book is “dealing with the power of thought, and particularly with the use and application of thought to happy and beautiful issues.”
3- The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. Singer: In this book, spiritual teacher Michael Singer explores the question of who we are and arrives at the conclusion that our identity is to be found in our consciousness, the fact of our ability to observe ourselves and the world around us. Definitely a book that makes you think, reflect on yourself and who you really are. It helps to navigate the vast topic of consciousness. For being such an introspective book, it is still very easy and pleasant to read (I read on the beach in India!).
4- You are the placebo by Dr. Joe Dispenza: In You Are the Placebo, Dr. Joe Dispenza explores the history, the science, and the practical applications of the so-called placebo effect. This book offers the necessary understandings to change old beliefs and perceptions into new and teaches a model of personal transformation that correlates with the placebo effect. In my opinion, this is a really transformative book. Thanks to this book, I got even more into mastering my mind, trying to always notice when my mind switches into “negative thoughts mood” and bring it back to a more positive, healthy mindset. Definitely a must-read book for rewiring your brain.
5- The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield: It is a novel in which the main character undertakes a journey to find and understand a series of nine spiritual insights in an ancient manuscript in Peru. The book is a first-person narrative of the narrator's spiritual awakening as he goes through a transitional period of his life.
By being very easy and simple to read, and endearing too, it discusses various psychological and spiritual ideas and I would add some possible scientific discoveries too, as some of the “insights” that you will find in the book might be proven by quantum science. It is a great book, a novel with very deep spiritual content.
I would love to hear your opinion on these books! Is there any book that changed your life? Please let me know in the comment sections!
